Also is the angel room just that much worse than the devil room Angel rooms tend to offer some of the best defensive items in the game and a few decent utility items as well. They also have a couple of extremely rare but game breaking offensive items. They also have the advantage of always being free, something to take into consideration for some characters. Devil rooms tend to offer most of the best offensive items, several good utility items, a couple of amazing defensive items, and a host of trash items. However, every item will cost you SOMETHING (even if it was just your Credit Card or Duplopia). Devil rooms reward good play with good items that will help accelerate your runs to their best potential as long as you can maintain that good play. Angel rooms can help shore up weak runs with free items.
