When the end is of your life is approaching, if you really are an atheist, you'll suddenly think "this is it" and you'll be very scared. Eh, I mostly thought "Welp. It's been a good run" and couldn't think of any regrets offhand. Fear? Eh, that didn't really come in too much. I accepted that death was probably imminent, and most of the fear was just that may be painful. Beyond that, I mostly worked towards maximizing my chances of survival.
