Also, some cats actually don't like to be outside.

Depends if they know any better to be honest. Again going back to the domesticating thing.

And just because they can take care of themselves doesn't mean things won't happen to them.

True that. I mean keeping them indoors can lead to many things happening to them. Probably much more bad things than being outside if I'm honest. This reminds me of a mother who will never let their baby out of their sight no matter how old they are so wrap them up in cotton wool ultimately suffocating them.

I'm not saying to have to domesticate all cats, nor do I think we should catch them all(Stray cats are fine). But I don't see the problem with domesticated them or keeping them inside. Especially when the weather gets bad...

... because they are cats that's why. Cats don't need babysitting because of worried "parents". Unless of course it's for medical reasons. It's really quite sad how some folk love to lock their animals indoors when their natural habitat isn't indoors.

Never mind the life expectancy is only half of fully indoor cats or anything.

Yeah you keep telling yourself that buddy. Anything to justify your cruelty huh?

a lion isn't going to be killed/hurt by an owl, racoon, dog, etc. a lion isn't going to be roadkill. if some sicko attacks a lion they will probably die
