I've raised several Pitbulls. The closest any of them got to being aggressive was one of them palyign a little too rough with some of my (half-pit)puppies. I've had chihuahuas and Labs more aggressive than a pit.

Anyone who says it's the breed has no idea what they're talking about.

Honestly I see people make claims that its about the breed, or that it isnt the breed its all the owner, but no one ever seems to have any evidence other than anecdotal for either claim

It's hard. Like people, they are all different. It's probably a little of both. Whatever is in their nature plus how they are raised. The proof could also be knowing pits who are nice to both humans and dogs... maybe...

So for those saying yes, what is your suggestion? Forcing owners to put down their dogs or move?

Usually in these situations in which something is made illegal that enough people already own, a "grandfather" policy could be applied, in which current owners would be allowed to keep their pets until they die naturally (or are put down by choice), but you would not be allowed to buy/adopt said banned pet from that point forward (or bring them from out of state).

I figured they'd b grandfathered in. But after that, would we just let them go extinct, or keep them in like zoos and stuff? Personally, I'm against banning them. But I would like to know what they would do...
