TC could have helped said friend. Instead, said friend now knows never to trust TC again. My advice would have been to be supportive and try to convince them not to. Not make things worse and probably stir up all kinds of shit in their personal life. Now said friend's life may be worse because of constant arguments with his parents due to them no longer trusting him. Find a better solution. Snitching never helps. This actually makes a lot of sense tbh. You that's like friendship 101 stuff. And friendship 301 is being able to see when your friend needs help that you can't provide and making sure he gets it even if the friend doesn't want it.
