As opposed to the UPS and USPS drivers who throw packages at your door and drive off without making sure anyone is home?I've never had any delivery driver give a single solitary shit whether or not my packages actually made it to the right house, were delivered to an actual person, or not left somewhere that they might be stolen or rained on. Whether shipping through a service like the Post Office/UPS/Fed-Ex or even another company that uses their own shipping or a different third-party service, I think every single thing I've ever ordered from anywhere has basically just been dumped on my front lawn or my porch. Most of them don't even bother attempting to ring the bell to get anyone's attention.I actually used to ship everything I sent to someone with "Signature Required" specifically for that reason - because otherwise, I had zero faith they'd ever actually get it. And even then, they didn't always bother getting signatures (but at least those had tracking data, so I could OCD-ly monitor a package's progress every couple hours or so, and then call the person and tell them to go check and see if they had a delivery if they hadn't already gotten it).Delivery services in general are pretty much universally ass.

I have never had a problem with my deliveries. I use to get home after my shift(at UPS, but not the one that delivers to my house, which I know because I got a package for my neighbor that had to go to a different warehouse) and my driver would come there within the hour. And would wait for me. I ended up telling him to just drop it off in the screen door. He would still knock or ring the doorbell. So, I could finish taking a shower or nap or whatever. It actually worked out pretty well. I heard that people are worse these days about stealing packages back home, though. I don't know much about the current drivers except they come later in the evening, but people are way better about not stealing packages here.

The reason they have probably been rushing more, as of late, is probably because more people order online these days. There are people who order stuff online everyday. Especially with the deals on Amazon and Amazon Prime. And the free 2 day shipping from them, as well. It puts a lot of extra work on the driver. They probably barely have time to make all the deliveries. And stopping would cost them time. To answer whether they could send more drivers, it depends. They may need more trucks. They may not have enough, while having extras when they need them. Then They would still need enough drivers. They would also need to redo routes, which would mean needing to redo the whole computer system to change where packages go to get loading. And also expanding the warehouse to have room for it all. Basically, it would take a lot of time and money.

I have yet to see a seller ship via Fed-Ex as opposed to UPS or USPS, but I suppose it's possible.

While Fed-Ex does do any kind of delivery, they usually do more business type stuff, AFAIK.

I almost got a job there once. They were having a job fair and wanted to hire a specific number of veterans. But stuff happened... My ex use to(or maybe still does) work for them...
