Topic | man... what does it take to get a job in computer science as a developer? |
Milkman5 10/17/18 12:01:04 AM #18: | FuriousFox posted... I've experienced the same problem, as someone who doesn't mind QA though. It's also been hard for me to find any place that will let me get into writing automated test scripts. The only places that will hire for that want you to have already built an automation framework from the ground up. Yeah, that's what I went through. Either you get lucky and be in the right place, at the right time, or you need to have all these extensive experience and proven value. I've had interviews for decent paying dev jobs, then I blew it the last second. I got lucky because I was referenced by someone at the company. I would never be able to get these interviews on my resume alone. Godnorgosh posted... I think there's another comp sci grad here who complains about working at a call center. I mean, if I wanted to be an IT guy that's what I would have pursued. I'd rather just join the army than just shift to IT outright. I should have joined the army years ago. I can't believe I thought I could be a dev out of college. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
