And I say that having platted High Road, Stormy Ascent, The Lab, and all the other fun ones from Crash 1. I think it's because in Crash 1, outside of a select few, it was more about the difficulty of the level than being a genuine speedrunner. If you had mastered the level and could get through it a) without dying b) without stopping and c) hitting every time box, you were almost always gonna get plat for your efforts. Some of Crash 2's are easy levels with a ridiculously high plat threshold, where you can "nail it" and still be 5 seconds short because you didn't do the absolute peak optimal slide-jump combo or some shit and I find that a little less fun IMO. --- ...
