Topic	Why is 3G internet slower today than dial-up was?

Kombucha posted... 4G in the US (different from 4G LTE) is just code name for HSPA+ which if I'm not wrong about is just an improved version of 3G. Locally I get 10mbps on it. I haven't been on a legit 3G band in a long time, at least not how it was defined upon release. Most of those were upgraded. My phone has 4G LTE right, but when the signal drops below 1 bar it switches to 3G and it always says the signal is full, but that mode just straight up is unusable. if you are using android, dial ##4636## to access the phone setting, and set it to 4G only. that way even with low signal it won't switch to 3G. might not available to some providers and brands. Cool, thanks I'll find out. Edit: that didn't work. It brings up a menu that says phone information, battery information usage statistics and Wi-Fi information. The phone information tab just brings up a screen that says it's not available with my device.
