This. I've heard those words used before, but I still have no idea what either of them mean and given that they were being tossed around in some really, really dumb conversations I'm almost afraid to look them up...

I have seen The Matrix many times, but "red-pilled" seems to have taken on a political connotation which I am not familiar with. It popped up a lot in the stories about JonTron and one of the mass shooters (I think it was the one that brought "Incel" into the common vernacular, but there have been so many I honestly can't remember).
I think that maybe it is some kind of right wing reference now but I always just thought of it as a reference to being "woke."
