Can you easily use controllers wirelessly for PC though? Sure, it's easy with USB, but I don't know how I'd use a wireless 360 controller without some kind of adapter.

The XBox controller require an adapter (pretty cheap, only $20). All other wireless controllers (PS4, etc) can be used with bluetooth (and a bit of software, which is really easy to setup).

I also don't want to play on my computer monitors at my desk. I want to sit on a couch with a big TV. And yeah, I know it's pretty easy to hook up to your TV nowadays too, but I have a desktop and it isn't really near my TV.

My desktop is hooked up to my TV, in fact I don't own any computer monitors, never have since I started PC gaming again seriously 11 years ago. You can use wireless mouse and keyboard to use the computer from the couch/recliner.

Then even if you have a good setup, it's still more work to actually get a game loaded up in comparison to using a device that has interfaces optimized for playing games, especially if we're talking older consoles where there's no OS and it just loads the game straight up.

Depends on the game, some games I agree (it took me forever to get the PC version of the original Resident Evil running on my Windows 10 computer, and I still haven't figured out how to get RE2 running). Other games are no different, just double click on the icon and it works. One of the main reasons I switched to PC exclusively was because disk swapping sucks, and consoles at the time didn't have the digital support they do today. Even though that has been somewhat remedied, everything comes out for PC anyways so really no reason for me to switch back.
