"What do you think of Raven?" you ask.

"Why are you asking that?" your father asks.

"I want to know your opinions," you say. "Do you like her?"

"Of course," your father says.

"She's lovely," your mother says.

"Is that your candid opinion?"

"Of course it is," your father says. "She's so much more modest and sensible than most. Especially Renee."

"Mhm," mother hums and nods.

Both you and your father look at her.

"What?" she asks as she notices your and father's expressions.

"That sound usually means you don't actually agree," you say. "Is there something you don't like about her?"

"Do you not think she's modest?" father adds.

"No, she's modest," mother says. "In personality."

"And what is that supposed to mean?" you ask.

"Well," mother says. "With Mother Ruth busy helping Father Sixth look after Aunt Radella, I was in charge of fitting the girls for dresses. And there are obviously some... items I'd be blind not to see."

"Oh, come now," you say. "What do... those... have to do with her modesty?"

"When your sisters designed her a dress, she didn't seem to mind how much she was showing."

"How much of what she was showing?" father asks.

"Dear, I know you're trying to be polite," mother says, "but as a man, I'd expect you to know what I mean."

You hear a commotion coming from the door, and you look over. The suitors file out, Renee leading the way, Roxanne just behind. Renee has her head held high as she parades out in front of all the families. But you look and see Raven pulling up the rear. You hurry over, and you start to see what your mother means.

"Raven!" you say in surprise. "My, my. I suppose this is what mother meant."

"Oh," Raven says with a slight blush. "So she told you?"

"Yes, and I'm certainly not one to complain," you say. "Let's go say hello."

You take Raven's hand and lead her over to

B) Talk with your parents
