Americans always have to remake popular tv shows from abroad because they struggle to identify with and thus can't enjoy the originals. Some famous recent examples of this are shameless, the office, life on mars, house of cards and there are loads more. It's just broken down even further where white, asian, hispanic and black Americans feel like they need to be 'represented' in the shows they enjoy. Wanting that representation in media is just an example of American privilege at it's most piss baby level. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
