Quan is canoncally killed by flying units. As green units, Quan and Ethlyn, both mounted units, are forced into fighting Travant and a bunch of Wyvern Riders in a desert. It doesn't go well for them. Also, the area is sealed off from the player so it's like an on map cutscene. I believe you can technically save them but they still count as dead storywise. --- This was not the best year for my bracket.
