I think if it is given to a pitcher, they should definitely be on a playoff bound team, and they should be a major reason they reached the postseason. That's why I said I could maybe understand Nola getting it if the Phillies make the playoffs. Perhaps it's not fair to hold pitchers to a different standard than position players for the same award.
