Their families agree to let their son and daughter get married, and then the new wife is expected to assimilate into the man's family while getting no respect until they have children. Personally it makes me reconsider how my life would go if my family were playing under different rules and it would have sucked. In America we definitely expect the family to be "parents+kids" and the grandparents shouldn't be a big part unless you're a screw up. --- you are not alone ... Copied to Clipboard! |
