I was cleaning up around my apartment, in my kitchen no less, and I pick up a bag of pretty old potatoes. When I gingerly lift up the bag, this dark brown sludge drips out of the bottom of it. After putting the bag into the trash can, I go to clean up sludge and notice that it's moving.

My chemistry background leads me to think up what type of chemical reactions could be occurring for this to happen, and I look around in the pantry (which is where the potatoes where kept), and can't think of what could cause the movement.

I decide not to care, and wipe up the first layer, then I look down and see a bunch of maggots crawling around. Gross

It took me like 10-15 minutes to muster up the stomach to clean that shit up. It was gross.

I can feel them crawling on me....
