I'll admit that some liberals made fun of Tebow (which I don't consider a great look) but there's a big difference: I never heard anyone suggest that Tebow be banned from kneeling in prayer. If Trump and his toadies kept it to "we will express our disapproval at NFL players kneeling, but we acknowledge their right to do so" I'd respect that, too, but they go too far when they support fines, firing, or otherwise enforcing players stand during the anthem. They instituted a rule to no longer allow it I believe and penalize it 15 yards. And it ironically ended up being enforced for the first time on a Muslim player (which alrdy shows the hypocrisy) and they backtracked hard when they were called out for penalizing him for making a prayer to Allah.
