A hairdresser likely isn't going to bleach someone's hair. They're going to step dye it blonde.

In the UK that's just called bleaching? (source: had hair bleached by a stylist in stages)

Just for note, if your hair is too dark, your hair might not be able to survive enough runs to go white.

no. bleaching and dying blonde are two different things. they have semi permanent dyes they would use. if you have brown or black hair and they start to step dye it blonde it'll start out looking lighter brown and then brassy until it finally gets blonde.

bleaching will turn it STRAIGHT blonde right away because it's bleach.

Orrrrrrr... Get this. It's called bleaching because that's what was used? As in, people ask for bleaching so it becomes colloquially known as bleaching?

As I said, I have had my hair "bleached" (their words) and it was 4 runs over a week to get platinum blonde.
