Or you can roll for even worse situation with a adopted / foster care since you were given up to Human Services! You realize not just anyone can roll up there and take a child right? They do background checks and everything. Odds are that kid will be in a better situation than they would have been being raised by the mom who is not prepared to be a mom. The heavy scrutiny is mostly for people looking to adopt. Fostering has a much lower bar. Also, friendly reminder: anyone other than a healthy, white baby is going to have difficulty being adopted. Over the age of five, you can basically give up on living anywhere other than a foster home. Also, keep in mind that when kids age out of the system, they are often just tossed out on their asses.
