I own the ps4 version but haven't played it yet since I don't really have access to my ps4 that often so I was going to probably buy another version eventually.

Though I kind of expect it to be about the same as 7/celceta, aka that it's pretty solid/good still in spite of falcom feeling the need to completely ruin the series and make everything about it worse by trying to write/pace it like a Legends of Heroes game (which is a bad thing because the loh series is bad >________>)

If you're playing the Complete version on psp/pc, the third and the last boss in Ys 1 are complete nightmares way out of depth with the rest of the game. The former you basically have to be at the level cap to do more than a pixel or two of damage on the lifebar with each hit, and it's still a grueling battle. The latter it's basically literally impossible to dodge the boss' fireballs (and that's before taking into account the platform you're on collapsing and it's an instant game over if you fall off) so it's a race to do enough damage before you die.

so I wouldn't recommend playing Ys 1 Complete on anything higher than the easiest difficulty setting. and I think the tcd is a bit easier/preferred if you can get to it since there isn't a level cap and your level carries over into ys 2 or something I haven't tried it yet.

The rest of the series isn't too bad about difficulty on normal. Might have to grind a few levels here and there though..
