Stifled: For me, this was the beginning of the end for Rugrats. As I mentioned in the Paris writeup, I had already checked out by then and didnt watch that movie until the present. Well this movie was the reason I checked out. Not because the movie was bad, however. It was quite enjoyable. But the problem was with Dill. I do not like Dill. The show had always dabbled in drool and diaper jokes, but Dill is a 100% constant drool and diaper joke. And I get it. Babies have bodily functions coming out of them 24/7. Ive been there. But when your new character that you built a movie around adds nothing to the group dynamic and only functions to be an annoyance/foil, you have a bad formula. This is especially true when he was added to the show after this movie. It just dragged the whole thing down, at least for me. The first few seasons of Rugrats were magical, but Dill took a big dump on said magic.
That rant aside, the movie isnt bad at all, except maybe for the monkeys. I didnt like them as a plot device and it just added to the silly factor. Little things like Lipschitz having his own hospital despite being revealed to be kind of a quack on the show, and Lil checking out Tommys junk when his diaper falls gave me good chuckles. The real strength of the movie, however, was the babies traveling through the woods in the Reptar Wagon. Their friendships were all tested, and essentially failed and rebuilt during their journey. The babies were typically a tight unit on the show except for a few isolated argument episodes, so this drama was huge for them. And for as hit or miss as Stu has been with inventions up until now, the Reptar Wagon was brilliant. I would have loved to have one as a kid. Well, except maybe switch up the pre-recorded catchphrases. I AM REPTAR, THE PERFECT CHILDRENS TOY! doesnt exactly roll off the tongue.

Traviss Opinion: Travis checked out of the movie and played an ice cream game on Mommys tablet. Its a shame because I think he would have gotten a kick out of the Reptar Wagon.

Red: The Rugrats needed a new character so it was movie time. Also none of these parents should be allowed to have children. All the tension this movie had is gone almost immediately as Tommy realizes he is fine with his new brother while the other kids randomly ignore him and then repeatedly attempt to kill the new baby. Everyone almost dies because their idiots they magically find each other everyone survives hurray(not really).

Snake: Also known as Contant Yelling: The Movie. Childish storytelling and overall boring characters, like many films on this list. Starting to sound like a broken record. I had a headache about half way through, which is never a good sign.

Karo: The Rugrats are a group of babies who are the result of E.T. impregnating several human females during his stint on Earth. These deformed little monstrosities constantly mispronounce and misuse words because this is apparently supposed to be 'cute', but honestly I dont think Nickelodeon understands the concept of cuteness, or even the definition of the word.
This movie adaptation starts out about Tommy getting a new baby brother, which wasnt too bad, but unfortunately things quickly degrade into bizarre randomness such as a monkey train hijacking, the kids trying to return Tommy's new brother to the 'baby store', and musical numbers that are truly atrocious beyond belief.
Much incompetent parenting results in the babies getting lost in the forest, and unfortunately they arent all eaten by wolves and Tommy learns a predictable lesson about brotherly love.
The only thing that makes this even watchable is the antics of the kids' parents. To hell with the damn babies, make a show about the adults already.
It's not the worst nicktoon movie that has been inflicted upon existence, but that is a bar so low that a fucking ant could jump over it.
