Charon: Surprisingly dark and snarky, this film (should have) set the tone for future Nick releases. The songs are fun and seeing the babies react to the even smaller baby is pretty humorous as well. Dil is pretty unbearable in this movie I'll admit, but he needs to be for the plot to work. Despite being toddlers, there are some rifts between the characters you might not expect coming in. Especially when Tommy basically threatens to murder Dil. It's when you almost kill your sibling that they truly come to respect you I guess! It's a fun adventure, and does a good job at keeping the adults that were forced into seeing this movie entertained I bet.

Johnbobb: I loved the Rugrats as a kid, and had fond memories of this movie. Unfortunately, it doesnt quite hold up as much as I wouldve liked. I spent much of the movie preoccupied on how Stu didnt end up imprisoned for child neglect and endangerment. Its a series of petty children squabbles combined with terrible adult decision-making, but at its heart it still has a bunch of fun characters and a simple but powerful message about brotherly love. Hard not to tear up at Dil and Tommy finally sharing the blankie.

Genny: Fun fact: Right before we watched this one both charon AND I got a video in our YouTube recommendations entitled: "The Rugrats Movie is darker than you remember". Eerie right? Well we watched it and I agree. That scene where Tommy is ready to abandon his own brother to the wilds by smothering him in banana baby food is almost scary. I feel for him though. Dill is a terrible, completely unlikable character in the first two acts of this film, and even though he undergoes a bit of redemption by the end, I'm still not a fan. Unlike Angelica, who's undoubtedly a love-to-hate kind of character you enjoy watching for one reason or another, Dill ruins everything in a manner that's not fun to watch, suffers no repercussions for his stupidity, and Tommy's forced into protecting him the entire movie because nobody else will.
My favorite line comes from Phil, in which Chucky's screaming that the monkeys are trying to take Dill, and he and his sister just kind of stand there awkwardly before Phil says, "So?" It's what every kid in the audience had to have been thinking. In a way that makes the movie more relatable to anybody with siblings, but I'm an only child so I still get it, but that dynamic is kind of lost on me I guess. One thing the movie never did explain is WHY Dill is so slow. It makes sense for him to not be on the same level as our Rugrats, who are like one, one and a half, and almost two years old if I recall, but if other newborn infants that are only minutes old can throw together a musical number on a whim and even choreograph in synchronized pee streams, then why can't Dill seem to do anything? Sheesh, no wonder they thought he was "broked"!

JONA: The Rugrats was a fun series and this was an alright movie. Big props to the voice actress of Tommy for the scene with his speech. I wish the majority of the movie wasn't just the kids stuck in the middle of nowhere but it's fine. The Rugrats are fine.
