Sorry, but asbestos does not exist because it's dangerous. That's the opposite reason. It exists because it prevents bad things from happening. And 40 years later we have learned A LOT about how to handle it and manufacture it so that people don't get sick. We didn't know and thus didn't follow safer procedures in the past which is why people are still getting sick today (the illness doesn't occur overnight). That and the EPA fucked up by concluding that asbestos should be removed from every single building no matter what, so construction crews were going from building to building across the entire US and stirring that shit up and exposing more people to it, even though the overwhelmingly vast majority of cases the people living in those buildings were at no risk of contracting an illness. It's been concluded that that was a really bad idea.

Here's the thing, though - there's far more than enough evidence to deduce that we DID know that shit was bad, but we used it anyway. It's literally why people who used it are sued on the daily.

I'm more than a little curious to know what the intended new uses might be.
