It is a livable wage, if you weren't stupid enough to have three or four kids first.
$15000 a year isn't living great, but it's not starving.


15000 a year including gas, rent, phone bill and maybe food ain't much at all.

Rent should only be a third of your income. Where I live, a one bedroom apartment in the bad part of town is over $500/month. That's close to half your yearly income.

(Also, that 15k/year is pre-taxes and assumes you're getting 40 hours a week, which most minimum wage jobs don't give).
