The problem is, every time minimum wage goes up, the cost of living goes up even more, and thus, people on minimum wage are worse off. Additionally, as much as they might demand it, not everyone who was previously slightly above minimum wage will get a payrise to stay above it, meaning there are now more people at that bottom line - a bottom line that's now worse than it was before. Work on reducing the cost of living. Do I know exactly how to achieve that? No. But that's going to achieve more than just saying "oh hey, instead of you getting $9 when you need $10 to live, you're now getting $10 when you need $12 to live". --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
