I tried to binge it, but couldn't make it past the first three or four episodes. Show didn't seem that great.
Shameless, on the other hand, is great but I keep stop watching because there's a lot of uncomfortably weird shit... plus the episodes are long and just go all over the place so there's no real feeling of resolution. ie, in the third (?) episode, Frank wakes up in Canada. Turns out that Steve got him drunk and dumped him there. About a third of the episode is them looking for Frank then finding out what happened. The problem of getting him back is resolved almost instantly. Instead of getting much closure, Frank heads to the bar and then successfully manages to hook up with the wife of the guy who decked him the episode before, mostly because he wants a place to stay. She rapes him with a dildo but he stays anyway.
Then my most recent stopping point is when a hot chick is trying to seduce the gay son who is trying to keep the fact that he's gay a secret, which is just all kinds of uncomfortable especially since the episode right before that had him reluctantly getting a bj from a chick his brother had been seeing *while* the brother was in the same room along with her parents. ---
