Well, I can't speak about the UK specifically; and that seems to be where your focus is from this thread.

Pure Communism is the the idea that personal property doesn't exist. That society is structured as a literal commune. That never works. Even in a commune someone ends up 'more equal' than the rest. There's also zero incentive to strive for betterment under communism, as any gains witnessed on an individual level will be miniscule(if they aren't scooped up by said 'more equal' individuals first).

Analyzing income disparity isn't useless. For example, if one looks at the US, why do CEO's have 1,000x+ times the income of other people in their companies, get up a quarter of a billion dollars as a severance package, and yet our society is fine with people being homeless and relying on the Emergency Room for treatment, costing untold thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dollars in care. It doesn't even make sense from a mathematical point, as getting a homeless person a basic roof over their head so they can get gainfully employed and contribute to society that way while having some basic dignity results in less strain. That's the problem with a Pure Capitalism system, and what was seen in the Gilded Age where workers were disposable property of companies to be used up and discarded, where some companies would build towns and pay workers in scrip good only at the company to result in a condition that was only a bare step above de facto slavery. At it's core Pure Capitalism has no empathy or respect, it consumes to the point of destruction.

When it comes to extraneous treatments in healthcare, that seems somewhat universal then. I still remember years ago when I went to the hospital thinking I had caught pneumonia and the damn doctors ran about 8 tests over 3 days before finally testing for pneumonia, and lo and behold I had pneumonia. Huge waste of time and money for society, but profitable for the hospital all the same.

The damaging attitude underlying the destructive impulses of Pure Capitalism can usually be summed up as, "I got mine, so fuck off and try to get yours." It's shortsighted and results in a society that is needlessly cruel and inefficient, even as it leans on the general positive growth traits of the reward levers offered by having basic capitalist elements woven into a society.
