Not to mention the fact that Rey is explicitly shown being skilled with a staff weapon in some form of martial art. Why is that experience negligible but a throwaway line about Luke piloting an airspeeder is justification for him to be a literal ace pilot?

... He still used the force after one road trip worth of training to guide a torpedo down a vent at insane speeds while being fired upon by literally the best pilot in the galaxy. Or how about how he has intergalactic telepathy after training with Yoda? Or how about when he is able to shoot down multiple enemy fighters the first time he's ever sat in a turret?

And seriously, why do you keep pretending Anakin wasn't even worse? Again, won a pod race because he was psychic, disabled an entire army by out classing the entirety of Naboo's best pilots in a strike on the Trade Federation capital ship, gets admitted to the academy despite the entire council saying no and the grandmaster successfully predicting he would destroy them all, and makes a noble woman twice his age fall in love with him. This all happened when he was 11, and a slave with zero training.

Again, I think I need to carify. I'm not saying they are bad characters, I'm saying that Rey is no different from the heroes of the last two trilogies and that's okay because Star Wars has always had poorly written, paper thin characters and it's just nostalgia that blinds people to any other option.
