Of course it is. Denying it won't make it any less true.

Nope. Not how it works.

Because like it or not, when you are posting in a public space where literally everyone on the planet has the option to respond to everything you say, you're abso-fucking-lutely asking for opinions, even if only implicitly. Emphasized by the fact that, when she GOT those opinions in the past and they either agreed with what she was saying or outright praised her, she was perfectly willing to accept those opinions and continue to interact with those people. It wasn't until she (wrongfully) considered a response to be personally insulting and contrary that she flipped her shit, threw her tantrum, and whined about people who have the audacity to respond to her posts (and acted like everyone who dared to disagree with her or even question her ideas in any way was talking down to her).

And you're missing the second part, where he explicitly said "these are our private social media accounts" (which they very much aren't), with the implication that no one else really has the right to response to their posts - when Twitter is pretty much the quintessential opposite of that.

And if that was what she (or he) actually wanted, she could easily have set her Twitter to private, or stuck to posting on private forums or other non-public forms of social media. Conversely, she could have written up her ideas as an article and posted them on some static form of media rather than posting them in a format that literally exists solely to facilitate the ebb and flow of discussion between multiple people in a public space.

It's exactly the same as when people make a topic on PotD, get responses they don't like, and then complain about not asking people for their opinions - and then get absolutely shit on for it. We all implicitly understand that by posting in a place like this, you are inviting response from others - whether you like that response or not. And that demanding people only reply if they agree with what you're saying or otherwise want to praise your ideas or be supporting is pretty much an invitation to have your teeth kicked in.

If you don't want people responding to your posts, you should probably STOP POSTING ON THE INTERNET.

Again, solely without context and within their own isolated sphere, his posts weren't that bad. But they were wrong, tone-deaf as fuck, and posted at precisely the wrong time and in the wrong place. And thus he got caught up in the backlash when if he'd just kept his head down and his mouth shut, he would still be working there. Like it or not, actions have consequences. Those consequences don't always seem fair, or even proportional, but that's life.
