I really admire the way you think, and I wish the majority of people could think the same way.

One would hope that people would just be elated that they survived. But I suspect the majority of people would immediately want to know if the man "took advantage" of those girls on the island.

Which, as a man, I find really sad and offensive.

Like, put yourself in the parents' shoes. You find out after 5 years that both of your daughters survived the plane crash, and were living on an island with a strange adult man all this time.

Would you be happy? Or would you immediately want to know if this man touched your daughters? Or would that thought never cross your mind because you'd just be so happy they're alive and you'd want to meet the man and thank him for helping your daughters survive? Would you have the nerve to ask him if he 'touched' your daughters? Would you quietly sit your daughters down and ask them if anything sexual happened? Would that be offensive? Understandable? Or just acceptable sexism in 2018?
