Something about the "anti-Spider-Man" factor. Doc Ock is the one I remember watching Spidey struggling against, over and over. Dude was so powerful. Definitely wouldn't have expected GG to be the consensus #1 before making this topic (didn't know that he was responsible for Gwen Stacy, for one thing).
