-What did you think about this category. What surprised you the most?

I really enjoyed this category, it had a real strong roster right up until the very end. I was kinda surprised Iron Man didn't crack top 10.

Is Tyrion a fitting winner? Who was your favorite to win it all at the start? Who do you think best defines this trope?

Knowing little about GoT I'm not sure if he's a fitting winner. I've certainly never heard of him specifically for his drunkenness anyway, unlike Archer.

My fave to win this contest was Max Payne, because I love the way Max Payne 3 deftly deals with Max's alcohol addiction and dependence through candid benders and strong art direction, like showing us Max through his eyes with blurred scenes, memory skips, and haunting flashbacks.

Max is definitely one of the best examples of this trope to me, but Barney Gumble probably fits the image of the "drunkard" that most people have in their heads best. A real underrated example is The Artist, who I really wish went further. There's something so subtly terrifying about opening a dresser or cabinet and having a bunch of hidden beer bottles fall out of it as you realize the damage he truly has done to his family. One last I'll highlight is Gary King, who I wish I supported more. He's characterized really well throughout the film, with his alcoholism first treated in a more traditionally comedic fashion before becoming more real and sad as he's really still living in the past.
