they're not really any safer. people just jump the gates. i have a friend who lives in a gated apartment complex and his car still got stolen out of the parking garage.

Yeah. I figured that they are not as secured as people think... depending on what youre trying to do.

When I lived in a gated apartment I preferred the gate to be broken which it was half the time.

Not only are you at the mercy of the gate and whether it will function properly, its so slow to get in and out of when it does work.

Everyone who didn't have a pass key just waited on the side for someone legitimate to follow in or swoop in after residents exiting. In effect it has no benefits to the resident in anyway and actually causesd more problems.

Though in this situation you could get a free pass on breaking your lease living in a gated that had a malfunctioning gate for most of the time, which people did benefit from.

Today, Inalmost went into the exit because my phone was telling me to. And I wasnt sure if my mom would be awake. And then, it took so long calling at the gate, somebody pulled up behind. Then just followed me in. It looked like they were hesitating, though.
