For one, I despise whole wheat and white rice. I dont see a reason to take one for the team for something that can be solved by fostering a culture with better eating habits without the need to outright mandate a government sanctioned ban on certain foods like some authoritative state. Think of it this say, if you think the government has to step in and coddle people for something so basic as having better eating habits, then thats not exactly a population that can make rational decisions on a whole host of other important life choices either.
Well then, most of society should be stripped of their voting rights since most of society can't make rational decisions then.

Thats what Im saying is the implication of your position in regards to government regulating our eating habits. Its obviously a ridiculous suggestion to strip people of voting rights because the majority may not be reasonably informed enough to vote. Government is there to aid its people in extentunating circumstances, not to make better life choices for them, even if a lot of people arent capable of making good choices consistently, we just have to live with that as part of being human.
