Outside of the super overhyped tier of FF 7 and OoT, Goldeneye has got to be one of the all-time most overrated games there ever was. It's not a good shooter at all, but it had a lot of charm and was the first console FPS game to really take off, so the nostalgia is thick. I agree with this 100%. I'm glad I don't have nostalgia for it cause it was terrible even back when it was new. If it wasnt for GE, games like Halo and CoD probably wouldnt exist (though in coDs case, maybe that would be a good thing...) Sure, this would be true if Goldeneye was the only FPS game ever. And if only it were true that GE was overrated, but it isnt. Its usually the Halo fanboys that claim it is, to support their own mediocre game. Yeah...the only Halo game I like is the first one. It's funny that you're calling other games mediocre when you're defending Goldeneye. Because GE is not overrated IMO. You may think it is and that's your opinion, but the MetaCritic score here on GFAQs is 96. So I'm not the only one that thinks GE is awesome.
