So say you work in an office and copier breaks down. Are you OK with getting docked on your review by your boss because you couldn't make a copy of his son's homework for him that day?
Regardless of the functional state of the copier I'm not going to make a copy of my boss's kid's homework for him. He's the dad and I'm not his slave.
And yet when a customer makes a stupid request that isn't the waiters job, they refuse to leave a tip because the server "had a bad attitude".
I don't know what you're talking about, you're being vague.
So in my example, you said you would refuse to make a copy for your boss because that isn't your job.
But you seem to support the idea that a server doesn't deserve a tip if they don't make the customer happy. And oftentimes what makes a customer unhappy is an insane request that isn't the job of the server, like "Hey, my phones dead. Give me your charger."
