But on the other hand, you could tell your employer you intend to leave after 2 weeks and they could go out of their way to make your last 2 weeks miserable out of spite.

That is very dangerous and a good way for your employer to get sued.


That's assuming you could actually prove that was the case, in court. In an "at will" state, you can be fired for anything or nothing, meaning the only way an employer could ever realistically get in trouble for violating labor laws, would be if they were caught actually admitting that were the true reason.
