I've been doing the same, this past week. And after some of the weirdness in season four, I'm really coming to understand why everyone thinks this is the best season of this show. Normally I'd agree with you that time travel ruins everything, because it makes stakes irrelevant, but they've managed to maintain that tension by introducing the possibility of a stable time loop, in which almost everyone dies.

Okay, some of this feels like a repeat of season 3.5, so meh. But I like that many of the same people are involved here as there. Really this whole season is about connecting dots within the season and pulling back mysteries from past seasons to resolve them. For example, I just realized the reason that time monolith needed to be reassembled by Flint, was because of the bomb shattered it at the end of episode 13. In that respect, that's like peak conservation of detail. I know Whedon is just the EP of this show, but that is totally one of his signature moves.

I'm also constantly tickled how many of the cast members from Spartacus keep finding actor cameos on this show, likely because of Maurissa Tancharoen's involvement in that show. It's like directors looking out for their casts, much like Whedon does for the Angel crew. It's sweet.

Holy shit at Raina cameo again, the good old days, I miss her.

OMG Me, too. Seeing her do what she does best gave me so much life.
