I normally don't like doing political topics, and I'm loathe to use the flair but I know people will hassle me about using it. But with some of these shootings, I keep wondering if that would've stopped it. The ones where a kid shoots their parent or siblings, or the the school shootings where they used their parent's gun.

I don't want to take guns away from good people, I just wish they'd do a better job keeping them secured so bad people can't get to them. Since IIRC a lot of guns used by criminals are ones that were stolen from someone else.

Safe Storage laws require that any gun be stored in a secure container when not in use.

I have done some research, and a few states have some sort of Safe Storage law, with Massachusetts having the strictest one. https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2017/05/24/massachusetts-with-strong-gun-storage-law-lost-1-child Here is an article that suggests how effective it is for preventing accidental shootings.

It's just something that's been on my mind a lot, and am curious about. I'd like to hear from people on both sides of the issue, in a CIVIL WAY. If it gets to uncivil, I will not hesitate to lock this topic at the soonest I can.
