barnnn 05/13/18 10:34:16 AM #114: | So I just read this one-shot novel, Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikari Kagayaku. Debut work of Sano Tetsuya, illustrated by loundraw. Got it for a 15-hour flight and finished it in one go. The story is basically about a guy doing favors for a terminally ill girl. Pretty cliched premise as far as Japanese drama goes, with the two main characters helping with each others existential crises through their interactions, but its got a pretty pleasant sense of humor, which isnt that common in this kind of story. The writing style is a tad bit too simple though, I guess. Doesnt really set the mood in certain scenes when its supposed to be super heavy, but I also kinda feel that it being so concise actually gives more space for fleshing out the core story and its characters. Well, Id say that I liked it overall. A bit rough around the edges, but its a pleasant read regardless. Would recommend if it gets a translation some time down the line. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
