You must have a *very* different vision of Spidey then, since the Raimi trilogy made the 60s and 70s Spidey run look serious by comparison. I still remember that one scene in SM2 where Peter just randomly tripped over a bike wheel. No reason. They just thought it would look funny. And then there were countless cringeworthy moments where actors really hammed up scenes. The *one* thing I'll give you, though, is that some of the action scenes in SM2 were pretty neat. However, the acting, story, etc, was a lot better in ASM1. Gwen Stacy in particular felt like a real person whereas MJ often just felt like a set piece. Which isn't to say that I didn't enjoy SM1 & 2 -- and I still really like SM2 in particular -- I just don't feel that it's as good as ASM1 for any number of reasons. --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ...
