Topic	I'm rewatching the first FMA anime. spoilers

It felt like the characters travelled to all these distant lands in like a day and then went back again for lunch sometimes. Something about the pacing was off putting in that sense. Great animes otherwise. Amestris isn't that huge of a country. they're not going to "distant lands" (except for ~~Ed and Al at the end of Brotherhood~~) It does feel like Xing is some distance away. So even if the setting is that large, it does feel like Amestris is really isolated (and vulnerable). they're not so much isolated as expansionist and militaristic. aside from the Eastern Desert, their shared borders are with countries that have long histories of military conflict and border disputes with Amestris --- peanut butter and dick <cite>averagejoel posted [p:898698211] in I'm rewatc...
