I'm not really familiar with the comics but by my understanding IM wasn't a major character until the movies and comic civil war. With RDJ likely moving on soon and Evans not wanting to stick around much longer either BP seems as good a choice as any to lead in phase 4. Iron Man wasn't famous to most people. but he has always been one of the most important people in the marvel world. I'm talking inside the fictional universe.
