MD was clearly meant to be the middle child of a trilogy, I didnt feel that the ending was bad as much as the game teased enough of the bigger picture that your actions in the game dont feel as important. This wouldnt be so bad if the final game came out a year or two later, but Square put it on ice after it didnt sell as well so youre just left with more questions than answers. Not only did they release the game without the proper ending, but the ending that was included was also not satisfying.
