Maybe he did 2 years. 2012 was 6 years ago. He's 26, so he would've been about 20 then. You have to be 18(17 with parents permission) to join. So, 2 years. And the military has 2 year contracts. That being said, he could've been kicked out, too.
every contract with the military is technically 8 years long. You may not be active but you're technically still 'in' and they can recall you at their leisure until those 8 years is up.

Well, yeah. You're contract is still there. But you may not ever get called back in ever. Haha. But I do agree that he was most likely kicked out. For whatever reason...
