As long as this game isn't another lazy rehash of FC3/4/Primal/BD, I'm in.

If it's the same exact shit in a different location, I'll wait until it's $15 during a Steam sale.

I don't get what people who say this want.

Primal and Blood Dragon were pretty different. So if you think those were lazy rehashes I don't know what outside of a complete genre switch would make you happy.

Primal used the exact same map as Far Cry 4:

The underlying gameplay mechanics in all of them have been the same, with the major differences being added vehicles or animal taming. The basics of the liberation system, map clearing, crafting, and loot collection have all been identical -- and fairly tedious.

The biggest issue with all the games is the weapon system, which makes 90% of them virtually useless. Beyond that, the open-world layout is completely squandered since there is nothing interesting for you to want to organically explore. The only reason to even visit the vast majority of the world is to clear the map of all the loot icons, and that's horrendous game design. The worlds aren't memorable and have no personality at all. Oh, and the HUD is an overcrowded mess. I'm reminded every 2 seconds that I'm playing a game, not exploring a real world.

I mean, I get sticking with a formula that works, but the Far Cry series is at the point of being rehashes now. I don't expect something as ambitious as Far Cry 2 , but I do expect more than the previous game with different textures.
