What's that in mph

The American education system, ladies and gentlemen.

Because he doesn't remember a conversion that he probably hasn't needed since he learned it way back in elementary school? Don't be a dipshit.

Elementary school? Any legitimate high school science course would make use of it, and Muscles is in his early 20's. Anyone with even the most basic secondary science education should be able to recall 1.6 km/mi less than a decade out of school. Especially where metric distances come up quite often even outside of school.

Though really, the fundamental problem is the US' insistence on clinging to a backwards, useless measurement system. The school system can only teach what they know, after all.
