And add to that: the 16 game regular season schedule. Less is more. Each game is high stakes and intense. Each play is subject to scrutiny. I love it.

Compare to the other whored out major sports in America (sorry, but it's true - they expanded their schedules for hundreds of games to maximize profit), you lose the high stakes nature and intensity of watching it.

I agree to an extent, but it applies to just about all sports. Also you can get this in college ball, not just the NFL, and college is generally more entertaining minus all the egos and criminals.
