If you're doing shakes, do it after you workout

Wait at least an hour and half to work out after eating so your body can actually digest the food you're eating. Otherwise you'll feel bloated and queasy working out.

Look up an actual lifting routine. Do Starting Strength 5x5 or Stronglifts 5x5 for the first few weeks/months to get a feel for technique. Then once you can't make progress every workout session on either of those two, switch over to something like the reddit PPL, GSLP, any 5/3/1 variation, etc.
